Italian Recognition on EA 28 (RT-05)

The Italian authorities recognize the importance and value of organizations achieving certification to ISO 9001 and have taken the decision that construction companies who wish to be considered for public construction tenders must be ISO 9001 certified. In addition, these companies must be able to demonstrate compliance to the specific construction industry criteria as defined by the Italian accreditation body SINCERT.

Criteria as laid down in SINCERT specifications RT-05 must be applied by these construction companies but they may choose to be audited by a certification body recognized by other Accreditation Bodies within the MLA. Such certification bodies must therefore meet the SINCERT requirements and be approved by their own national accreditation body (in United Registrar of Systems Ltd’ case UKAS) to offer certification to construction companies in Italy.
